The service is free to anyone who is eligible-certain learning disabilities, blind, visually impaired, or fine motor skills restrictions which prevents holding a paper or turning a page. Eligibility criteria follows the same definition of print disabilities as does the National Library Service.

NFB-NEWSLINE ® KENTUCKY can be accessed by a touch tone telephone, or online at www.nfbnewslineonline.org, by email, or with the free NFB-NEWSLINE ® Mobile app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch at NFB-NEWSLINE ® Mobile app.

Advanced features of the service continue to increase and display the beneficial independent means of time-sensitive information access through Global Search features and advanced online access methods. NFB-NEWSLINE ® offers over 400 newspapers, 45 magazines, and TV Listings per consumer choice, and is controlled by the user-friendly, menu-driven system, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The addition of the Target Store Ads and Job Listings by Career Builder provides greater independence to shoppers and job seekers alike. My Newspaper in the Favorites section allows the reader to select specific sections from any of the publications to create one's own special newspaper for convenient access, and the Global Search feature presents the opportunity to search the service for a single word or phrase of choice which results in a comprehensive display of the articles in which the search item appears.

The NFB-NEWSLINE ® Team works tirelessly to define new channels, such as Kentucky Elections, KY Information Channel, Weather Channel, and Breaking News and also continues to add new newspaper and magazine publications regularly, such as the USA Today, ESPN, NPR, Wallstreet Journal, Roiters, Bloomberg, Reno Gazette, New York Times, Pocono Record, The Verge, Family Fun, Parade, Vending Times, and Stars and Stripes. Additional recent features are the Emergency Weather Alerts (specific to ZIP Code area) and the Central Kentucky Radio Eye Stream broadcast.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. blindness is not what holds you back. You can live the life you want!
